The RFEMS approached its 30th anniversary with significant achievements and is a mature and full-fledged scientific society, essentially of all-Russian scale, with significant experience in publishing its own journal and supporting a website, having held 4 international conferences and meetings, actively contributed to the development of malacology and its popularization in Russia, the involvement of young scientists in the scientific process and developing international relations. Being an independent public association of scientists, the society has proven the possibility and necessity of successful and free integration of researchers for the purposes of promoting science and education. It is the second malacology society in the history of Russia, but it operated far from scientific centers, on the outskirts of a huge country, relying on meager material resources, but was able, thanks to the persistence and selfless work of its members, to become an important element of Russian and international science.
